PIPE SEALING
Pipe penetrations present an unusual waterproofing challenge for basements and are a regular cause of water ingress.
Gas, water, electricity and data cables are installed though ducts in the ground which often emerge through basement walls to habitable basement space.
If they are left unsealed they can provide a perfect conduit for water to enter the basement. This is an issue for habitable space basements but can also damage valuable equipment in Grade 1 and Grade 2 basements, such as plant rooms and carparks.
Octopus Waterproofing are experts are installing two of the leading ranges of pipe sealant systems. The systems can cope with penetrations of any side and orientation. we can even install the products where there is running water present!
Newton Stopaq
We use the newton system for a wide variety of pipe penetrations. the system is value for money and robust in commercial and domestic applications.
The system works with a plug of injectable waterbar putty which expands when water is presented against it. It is held in place by a cement plug on the inside of the pipe and also the edge of the pipe facing the basement
CSD Nofirno Duct-seal
Nofurno duct seal works on more challenging pipe sealing, usually larger penetrations with multiple cables and pipes. We fill the void with expandable straws then dress the side facing the basement in a waterproof mastic sealant to finish the sealant. The system holds back pressure of up to 2.5 bar and is our premium solution.
